Konstantin Grcic (born in 1965), Chair_ONE chair, Germany, 2003

Konstantin Grcic studied furniture design at the London Royal College of Art (1988-1990), and trained under Jasper Morrison, before establishing Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design in Munich.

Chair_ONE is a striking piece for its use of concrete, a material rarely used in furniture. Its line is simultaneously highly structured, graphic and simple, where the purity of the white of the seat and the back forms a contrast with the crude appearance of the base.
