This room, (protected from the light of day), presents a selection of textiles and leathers. Tapestries, furnishing fabrics and upholstered seats illustrate the role of textiles in interior decoration and their use as wall decoration, seat upholstery and padding, furniture and floor coverings, etc. They also represent the various weaving techniques (tapestry, long or short pile carpets, cross-stitch embroidery, etc) and materials (wool, cotton, linen, silk, etc) that were used. Due to the fragility of the works on display, the presentation is changed regularly. Alongside an early eighteenh-century invalid armchair with a rack-and-pinion system, which still has its leather upholstery, the display evokes the role of leather in interior decoration for seat coverings, wall hangings and upholstery.
