Grégoire Scalabre did a residency at the Manufacture Nationale de la Porcelaine in Sèvres from 2008 to 2011. During this residency he focused on a process of accumulation, using small, meticulously turned forms assembled into mural landscapes. Here, he has assembled 9000 little vases. The title of the piece, Soäne, recalls a boat belonging to the Company of the Indies that was shipwrecked in the 18th century.
