With the new display of its modern and contemporary collections, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is extending its acquisition policy, offering a broader look at the international contemporary design scene. This section highlights both established and emerging creators, whose work blends tradition and modernity. Drawing on their own cultures and artistic heritages, these designers offer a unique take on everyday objects. They then elaborate a renewed vision of design, resulting of a re-evaluation of forms, techniques and materials. The works reveal the richness and eclecticism of design on a global scale, calling for a plural definition of modernity.
