This Aubusson tapestry from Comte Nissim de Camondo’s collection was designed by Jean-Joseph Dumons, official painter at Aubusson from 1731 to 1755. The compositions were adapted from the cartoons produced for the Beauvais factory by François Boucher in 1742 for the “Tenture Chinoise” tapestry series.
