The furniture and wood paneling of Michel Roux-Spitz’s personal office in his agency at 33, Rue Octave Feuillet in Paris (a building he designed) was presented at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1930 under the title “Manager’s Office,” and installed in his agency the following year. With its numerous mail cubbies and map drawers, the large desk is highly practical; it can be seen as an architectural metaphore for Roux-Spitz’s constructions, with the horizontal lines of the drawer handles echoing the brass baseboard that runs around the bottom of the desk,.
