The apron of this gueridon table features a frieze of cupids holding garlands. Its marble top is supported by three legs, each with a satyr’s head at the top and a seated griffin at the bottom. The amboyna burl base is a later addition. Long attributed (without proof) to the bronzier Pierre-Philippe Thomire, it was sold to Comte Moïse de Camondo by the antiques dealer Jacques Seligmann in 1900.
