Since the 19th century for ceramics and during the 20th for glass, individual workshops have developed allowing greater freedom in the practice of these traditional techniques. Creators, often trained in art, architecture and design schools, broadened their field of activity and studies of the object were often associated with more sculptural processes.
Whether narrative or abstract, organic or geometrical, all formal expressions are encountered in the creations of these specialists in complex mineral materials, who take on the artisanal process or participate actively in it.
The surfaces, textures, gloss and colours, rendered unique by firing or melting, make these works original.
