Hector Guimard designed several buildings for the industrialist Léon Nozal: warehouses in La Plaine Saint-Denis; an artist’s studio on Avenue Perrichont; the villa La Surprise in Cabourg; and a boundary stone erected to the memory of his son Paul, who died in a car crash in 1903. From 1902 to 1905, he worked on the Nozal family mansion at 52, Rue du Ranelagh in Paris. The bedroom furniture was made on the occasion of the wedding of Léon Nozal’s daughter Caroline to Albert Pézieux in 1903. The mansion was demolished in 1957.
